Trial cultivation with CIV selections in Serskamp, Belgium
At our site in Serskamp, for the second year in a row, we are busy carrying out trial cultivation of various CIV strawberry varieties. We are proud to present an exciting mix of experiments this year, carefully testing different varieties in both our glass greenhouse under LED lighting and in our recently built mini air tunnels.

In our glass greenhouse, equipped with advanced LED lighting, we have planted no fewer than 20 low-chill varieties and 12 high-chill varieties. These plants were carefully placed on December 27, with the aim of creating the ideal environment for healthy growth and development. Thanks to the controlled climate conditions and the high-quality lighting technology, ideal growing conditions can be strived for.

In addition to the glass conservatory, we have introduced our mini air tunnels with great enthusiasm. Here we mainly planted everbearers, which are known for their longer harvest period. Due to the colder spring this year, these plants were not planted until the end of April. Despite this later start, we are pleased to see that the strawberries have adapted well to their new environment. The mini-airtunnels provide protection against the elements and create a favorable microclimate, allowing our everbearers to grow and bear fruit optimally. This technology has proven itself and we are convinced that our everbearers are an excellent choice for those looking for top quality strawberries over a longer period of time.

At our company, we always strive to be at the forefront of strawberry cultivation, and this year's trial crops are an example of that.
